The Long Island Water Conference plays an active roll in the state and local legislative process to ensure the best interests of the public and its drinking water supply are always top of mind.

There are three key areas we are focusing on:

  1. Statute of Limitations for Public Water Providers to Commence Action for Injury to Property

  2. Drinking Water Infrastructure Funding for Emerging Contaminants

  3. Revision of the 2011 Tax Cap law to allow local governments that own and operate a water system to exclude capital expenditures from the tax cap calculation.

Legislative Breakfast

The Long Island Water Conference hosts an annual Legislative Breakfast that brings together Long Island's water suppliers and elected officials from all levels of government. Every year, this informative event provides a platform for a thought-provoking conversation about the most significant legislative issuing facing Long Island's water supply and distribution system.
